Downed power lines spark brush fire in Joppa, Pulaski Highway shut down

JOPPA, MD—Crews are on the scene of a brush fire that was caused by downed power lines in the Joppa area.

At around 7:15 p.m. on Sunday evening, August 11, units from Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded after electric wires came down along Pulaski Highway, sparking a brush fire.



Route 40 has been shut down between Joppa Road and Joppa Farm Road and BGE crews are en route.

Motorists should use an alternate route.
