MIDDLE RIVER, MD—As the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby move through the Baltimore region, flooding is occurring in many locations.

As of Friday morning, water is encroaching upon the tops of piers and bulkheads in many places throughout the Bowleys Quarters area and rising at a rate of six inches per hour, according to Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue & Marine. High tide will occur at 1:04 p.m. EDT on Friday afternoon.

Winds from the southeast will continue to push water into rivers and creeks until early afternoon. Coastal flooding is imminent.

The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks says that Miami Beach is closed due to flooding, the boat launch is closed at the Loch Raven Fishing Center, and swimming is prohibited at Rocky Point Beach.

Many trees are down throughout the area and some local roads are closed.  Motorists are reminded to “turn around, don’t drown.”
