Councilman Marks recommends protecting 75 acres in southwest Perry Hall as open space

PERRY HALL, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks on Wednesday announced that he will recommend preserving 75 acres in southwestern Perry Hall between Honeygo Boulevard, Silver Spring Road, I-95, and White Marsh Boulevard. This includes the Featherhill, Lawrence Hill, and Tartan Hill areas.

Councilman Marks hadn’t represented these areas until the most recent election. He will recommend applying the Neighborhood Commons zoning which prohibits any development.

“This is likely the last large region in Perry Hall that lacked the Neighborhood Commons zoning,” Councilman Marks said. “Since our legislation passed in 2012, Neighborhood Commons has been applied to more than 4,000 acres throughout Baltimore County.

The Comprehensive Zoning Map will be adopted by the Baltimore County Council in late August.
