BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Friday in the Baltimore area.  A Heat Advisory remains in effect for northern Baltimore County.

The waring will be in effect from noon to 8 p.m. on August 2 as heat index values are expected to reach 110 degrees.

Scattered strong afternoon thunderstorms are also expected throughout the area.

Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
