Heat Advisory issued for Friday in Baltimore, heat index to reach 107 degrees

UPDATE: An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for the Baltimore area as heat index values are now expected to reach 110 degrees.

BALTIMORE, MD— The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Friday in the Baltimore area.

The advisory will be in effect from noon to 8 p.m. on August 2 as heat index values of up to 107 degrees are expected.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.

Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
