New justice appointed to Maryland Supreme Court

ANNAPOLIS, MD—The Maryland Supreme Court has appointed a new justice to its Fourth Appellate Judicial Circuit. Peter Killough, a judge from Prince George’s County, will join the circuit court.

Killough has served as an associate judge since 2018. He’s a former lawyer with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, having served ten years in that position.

Before his time at the attorney general’s office, Killough was the senior attorney for the Ford Motor Company’s Office of General Counsel. He’s also had experience in private practice with the law firm of Carter, Ledyard and Milburn.

A graduate of New York University and the University of Virginia School of Law, Killough has served in the U.S. Army and reserves.

“Judge Killough is a public servant in every sense. He has dedicated over a decade of his life to serving the people of Maryland, and we are grateful that he has raised his hand, once again, to make our state better,” said Governor Wes Moore, who appointed Killough to the position. “Today, the Supreme Court gains a talented, dedicated, and thoughtful leader who will help ensure equal justice under the law for all Marylanders.”
