Edgewood house fire results in $150K in damage

EDGEWOOD, MD—Crews responded to a house fire in the Edgewood area on Friday night.

At just after 9:15 p.m., units from Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded to a house fire in the 400-block of Trimble Fields Drive.



The owners were inside their home when they heard noises and smelled smoke. They later discovered a fire on their deck.

They were able to escape safely escape with their two dogs. The owners are being assisted by other family members.

It took 50 firefighters about 15 minutes to control the blaze, which caused $150,000 in damages.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal says the blaze was caused by discarded smoking materials.
