UPPER FALLS, MD—Following April’s virtual session and a May meeting in Perry Hall, another in-person meeting will be held in Upper Falls on Monday to discuss a large transmission upgrade project called BGE Brandon Shores Mitigation. The project will affect Middle River, White Marsh, Kingsville, Fallston, and other areas in northeastern Baltimore County and southern Harford County.
Officials say the project is necessary due to the announced retirement of Talen Energy’s Brandon Shores Generating Station, a significant coal-fired electric power plant located in Northern Anne Arundel County.
As part this project, BGE is upgrading several existing BGE substations, constructing one new substation in both Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County, and modifying approximately thirty- five miles of transmission lines on existing BGE rights-of-way between the Pennsylvania border and southern Baltimore County.
Community members are invited to attend the Brandon Shores Reliability Mitigation Program public information session to learn more about this program, ask questions, view project plans, talk with the project team, and more.
The BGE Brandon Shores Community Meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22, at the Odd Fellows Hall, which is located at 7801 Bradshaw Road.
