Middle River man arrested after pointing gun at driver

MIDDLE RIVER, MD—A 53-year-old Middle River man has been arrested after he pointed a gun at another motorist, Maryland State Police said in a news release Friday.

Jason Catanzariti is facing felony assault, use of a gun in commission of a felony, and other related offenses, police said. Catanzariti is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bond.

Troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack responded to the northbound I-95 at I-695 (Exit 49) intersection for a report of a road rage incident on Thursday, July 18th. The motorist who reported the incident called 9-1-1 and described the suspect’s vehicle as a gray Subaru with Maryland registration, police said.



A lookout was placed in the area to assist police in locating the suspect’s vehicle. At 8:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, troopers located the suspect’s vehicle and the driver, Catanzariti, at a residence in Middle River. They also located a loaded firearm that is believed to have been used in the incident.

Catanzariti was arrested and taken to the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack for processing. He faces a mandatory five-year prison sentence if convicted.
