BALTIMORE, MD—The heat wave continues in the Baltimore area, and the National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Tuesday.
The warning will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 16, 2024 as heat index values are once again expected to reach 110 degrees.
Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
Very warm and humid conditions will persist into the overnight hours, adding heat stress to those without air conditioning. Ensure to stay hydrated and find ways to stay cool.
Residents are encouraged to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
