BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Baltimore area.
The watch will be in effect from Friday evening through Saturday morning.
Forecasters say flash flooding due to excessive rainfall is a possibility through the overnight hours.
Multiple rounds heavy rainfall are likely this evening, and again late tonight into Saturday morning. Rainfall amounts will average around 1 to 3 inches with localized amounts around 3 to 4 inches possible.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Residents should stay tuned to local forecasts on Friday night and Saturday morning.
