Maryland State Police seek assistance in locating murder suspect

SALISBURY, MD—Maryland State Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Seaford man in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in June in Wicomico County.

Fernando Medina-Moreta, 27, is wanted for the murder of 23-year-old Franklin Abraham Perez Rodriguez.



According to police, Medina-Moreta and Rodriguez got into a physical altercation sometime early in the morning on June 9. During the altercation, Medina-Moreta pulled out a gun and shot Rodriguez before fleeing the scene.

Rodriguez was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

The Salisbury Police Department requested the assistance of the Maryland State Police in the investigation. Medina-Moreta is currently considered armed and dangerous.
