BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Baltimore area on Saturday. The Excessive Heat Warning replaces the previously issued Heat Advisory.
The warning will be in effect from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on July 6, 2024.
Forecasters say dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of up to 111 degrees are expected.
Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
