Heat Advisory issued Baltimore area as heat index to hit 109

UPDATE: An Excessive Heat Warning has now been issued for the Baltimore area.  The Heat Advisory is no longer in effect.

BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Saturday in the Baltimore area.

The advisory will be in effect from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on July 6, 2024.

Forecasters say heat index values of up to 109 degrees are expected.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.

Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
