BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Independence Day in the Baltimore area.

The advisory will be in effect from noon until 8 p.m. on July 4, 2024. Heat index values of 100 to 105 degrees are expected.

The combination of air temperatures in the 90s and high humidity will result in the potential for increased heat-related illnesses, especially for those partaking in outdoor Independence Day activities.

Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
