Officials announce ribbon-cutting to celebrate upgrades to Essex Field at Renaissance Park

ESSEX, MD—The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks will hold a ribbon-cutting in Essex next week.

A ribbon-cutting will be held to celebrate upgrades to Essex Field at Renaissance Park.



Additions include a new synthetic turf field, an energy efficient LED field lighting system, permanent seating stands, and a scoreboard.

The event will take place on Monday, July 8 at 10:00 a.m. Those in attendance will include Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, Councilman Todd K. Crandell, and Bob F. Smith, Director of Recreation and Parks as they celebrate the partnership between Baltimore County, the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, Chesapeake Gateway Chamber of Commerce, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel School.

Essex Field at Renaissance Park is located at 99 Stemmers Run Road (21221).
