NOTTINGHAM, MD—Officials have provided an update on the water main break along Belair Road at Rossville Boulevard.

According to Councilman David Marks, a contractor working on a storm drain project on behalf of the Maryland State Highway Administration  inadvertently damaged an existing 24-inch water main and notified Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW). Water service has not been disrupted; however, DPW  temporarily shut down the water main at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26 to accommodate initial repair work.

Water service will be temporarily interrupted in the 7900-8300 blocks of Belair Road. DPW is providing water service interruption letters to the affected residents and businesses, including Mr. Tire, McDonald’s, IHOP, Mattress Warehouse, Jerry’s Toyota, and several others.

Current ETA for restoration of service is approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 27th.  Motorists should use caution in the area.
