Injured hiker rescued at Gunpowder Falls State Park

FALLSTON, MD—An injured hiker was rescued at Gunpowder Falls State Park on Wednesday evening.

At just after 6:15 p.m. on June 26, Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company and Harford County Department of Emergency Services personnel responded to a medical emergency on the Gunpowder Falls State Park Dalton Bevard Trail in Fallston.



Units responded to the area and attempted to locate and make contact with the reporting individuals and patient. Search teams located the patient about half a mile in on the Green Trail utilizing GPS coordinates provided by Harford County 911 dispatch.

The patient was transported off of the trail, evaluated, and transported to a local hospital with an unspecified, non-life threatening illness.
