Maryland Fleet Week returns to Charm City [VIDEO]

BALTIMORE, MD—Maryland Fleet Week returns to Baltimore City and Baltimore County this week. The event is free to attend and includes a series of ship tours, festivals, flyovers, and educational activities.

Maryland Fleet Week & Flyover Baltimore presented by Northrop Grumman, is a week-long celebration that brings together “Fleet, Flights, and Festivals.”

Fleet Week began on Wednesday, June 12, with the first ships arriving in Baltimore. The ships include United States Navy and Coast Guard vessels, Army Corps of Engineers vessels, many traditional sailing craft and working vessels. They will be docked at various locations around Baltimore, including the Inner Harbor West Wall, Piers 1-5, North Locust Point Marine Terminal Pier 4, and Fells Point Broadway Pier.

On Thursday, June 13, the ships will be open for public tours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On the following days, Friday, June 14, and Monday, June 17, the ships will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise indicated. During the week, there will also be a series of flyovers of military and civilian aircraft that will be centered over Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Flyover Control, located at the Harborplace Light Street Pavilion, will be providing live announcements, commentary, and information on the flyovers. There will be three festival activations during Maryland Fleet Week featuring live musical performances, exhibitors, food and drink, hands-on children’s activities, military displays and more.  Fleet Week Festival locations are:
