BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Baltimore area.
The watch will be in effect from noon until 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Forecasters say multiple rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms will move across the area on Wednesday into this evening. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are likely, with isolated amounts of 3 to 4 inches possible.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.
Some storms could produce damaging wind gusts. Showers and thunderstorms will linger on Thursday with a brief reprieve by Friday.
Residents should stay weather-aware throughout the day.
