70-year-old killed in fatal Essex hit-and-run crash, vehicle sought

ESSEX, MD—Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department are requesting help from the public in locating the driver who was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in the Essex area over the weekend.

The crash took place at just before 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, on northbound Route 702.



The vehicle, described as a 2018-2021 Ford F250 or F350 Super Duty, fled the scene, traveling northbound along Route 702 toward I-695.

The victim has been identified as 70-year-old Ronald Lee Lefavore, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

As the circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation, detectives are asking anyone with information about the case to please contact 410-887-5396. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward when submitting a tip via Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
