PERRY HALL, MD—A new veterans memorial will soon be built in the Perry Hall area.
The Honeygo Regional Veterans Memorial will be built in Gough Park to honor the service of local veterans and give recognition to all armed conflicts, including World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, the war in Afghanistan, and more.
The memorial is privately financed and donations are currently being accepted. An additional $33,000 still needs to be raised and the organizers hope to complete the project by 2025.
The Community Advisory Group looked at over 14 possible locations and, with the help of Baltimore County, selected Gough Park at the southeast corner of Joppa Road and Honeygo Boulevard (21128).
The park will also include a walking history of the Honeygo Area beginning with indigenous residents to current residents.
