CCBC announces 2024 President’s Distinguished Graduate Award Winner

ROSEDALE, MD—The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) this week announced that Vidhi Patel has been named the winner of the 2024 President’s Distinguished Graduate award.

The award is annually given to a student who demonstrates leadership and a commitment to helping others. This year, Patel was recognized for her work as a student mentor, president of the CCBC Essex Phi Theta Kappa chapter, and Vice President of Service of the Honors College, as well as her involvement in numerous other leadership roles on campus.

In addition to her work as a student mentor, Patel has also shown a commitment to community involvement by volunteering at PRISIT, a student-led initiative that supports organizations and individuals in need. She has also participated in the college’s partnership with the National Alliance for Mental Illness to promote the importance of mental health among college students.

“CCBC has helped fund my education on top of connecting me to multiple resources that have led me to be here today,” said Patel. “I am grateful to have been able to attend CCBC and have access to their scholarships, facilities, and organizations.”

Patel is a graduate of the CCBC General Studies program and plans to continue her education at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she aims to earn a bachelor’s degree and start her own brand of formal wear.
