BALTIMORE, MD—A man has pleaded guilty to an armed robbery and shooting that left one dead in Baltimore in April 2023, the State’s Attorney’s Office announced.
Arthur Jesse McCaden has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and five counts of armed robbery for the shooting of Fabian Sanchez Gonzalez on April 30, 2023.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 16 and McCaden will receive a life sentence suspended with up to 60 years.
“Securing a plea for first-degree murder is a testament to our relentless pursuit of justice. This outcome underscores our unwavering commitment to holding perpetrators accountable for their actions and bringing closure to the victims’ families,” said State’s Attorney Ivan J. Bates.
Officials say that McCaden was one of two suspects involved in the armed robbery of a T-Mobile store in the 2500 block of Boston Street.
Gonzalez was found shot in the chest and later died at Bayview Hospital.
Detectives were able to identify McCaden as one of the suspects through surveillance footage.
The Baltimore County Robbery Unit has also identified McCaden as the suspect in an additional three armed robbery cases that took place between April 18, 2023, and April 25, 2023.
