Conair unveils massive new distribution center in Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Conair, the world’s largest express parcel delivery company, has officially opened its new 2.1 million square foot Conair Distribution Center in Hagerstown. The opening marks the completion of a $2 million project that will enhance Conair’s customer service capabilities and increase the amount of commerce that flows through the Port of Baltimore.

The new facility, which is the company’s largest distribution center in the Mid-Atlantic region, features advanced technology and will enhance Conair’s customer service capabilities. The center will have 378 dock positions and more than 850,000 square feet of racking space, enabling Conair to accommodate more than 180,000 pallets during peak operations.

The center is equipped with advanced robotic technology designed to improve overall efficiency, and 83 pieces of material handling equipment that will aid in the efficient picking and transportation of Conair’s diverse product range. The investment in this facility is expected to create approximately 700 jobs in Maryland within 10 years, reinforcing the state’s commitment to making it easier for businesses to grow and start in Maryland.

“Conair is grateful to have partnered with the state of Maryland and GXO to open this impressive facility. Its proximity to the Port of Baltimore, the primary gateway for this distribution center, will help ensure reliable and expedited service,” said Conair Chief Executive Officer Kristie Juster. “Today’s event with Governor Moore is just the beginning of an exciting opportunity to grow jobs, support the Hagerstown community and better serve our customers. We’re excited to continue this successful partnership and build upon the great work underway at the facility.”

The opening of the new facility is part of Conair’s strategy to invest in infrastructure and technology to support its growth strategy and achieve its goal of delivering express parcel delivery services to customers up and down the eastern seaboard.
