50-year-old killed in fatal Harford County motorcycle crash

WHITEFORD, MD—Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred in Harford County on Sunday night.

At just after 10:30 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the area of the 2600-block of Whiteford Road.



According to a preliminary investigation, a Honda motorcycle was traveling north when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a telephone pole. The operator of a Honda motorcycle involved in the crash, identified as Jason Birley, 50, of Fawn Grove, PA, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Whiteford Road was closed for approximately 2.5 hours following the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
