TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Department of Planning has announced a series of free capacity-building workshops for community and nonprofit organizations.
The workshops are part of an effort to assist organizations with a range of challenges, including grant readiness, human resources, strategic planning, and fundraising. The capacity-building initiative is funded by the Federal American Rescue Plan Act.
Free, virtual workshop offerings were developed in response to a needs assessment survey of the County’s community and business-focused organizations that received over 300 responses and recommendations by MANO. Workshops are open to any organization serving Baltimore County residents and translation services are available upon request at least 5 days in advance. Three workshops already delivered addressed Grant Readiness, Grant Compliance, and Volunteer Outreach and Management.
Virtual workshops open to all are continuing and include:

- May 29: How to Start a Nonprofit
- May 30: Strategic Planning
- June 11: Human Resources
- September 10: Program Development and Evaluation
- September 17: How to Start a Nonprofit (repeated)
Organizations interested in participating in workshops can apply online. A limited number of organizations are eligible to participate in one or more of the workshops.
