Woman dies is fatal Fallston riding mower accident

FALLSTON, MD—A Fallston woman has died in a fatal lawn mower accident.

At just before 5:15 p.m. on Thursday evening, May 2, Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company and Harford County Department of Emergency Services responded to a lawn mower accident with traumatic injury in the 2300-block of Willow Vale Drive.  As personnel responded, the Harford County Department of Emergency Services 911 center advised the patient was no longer conscious or breathing.  A Maryland State Police Aviation Command unit was dispatched to the scene.



At just after 5:15 p.m., units arrived on the scene and found that a riding mower had fallen into a drainage ravine located in the rear of the residence.  One adult female patient had been trapped underneath for an unknown period of time and was in cardiac arrest. Citizens on the scene had initiated CPR before the arrival of emergency personnel.

FVFAC resources arrived on the scene and the patient was quickly extricated from a 7-½ foot drainage ravine, and advanced life support care was initiated. Despite all efforts, the adult female was pronounced dead at just after 5:30 p.m.  She has not yet been identified.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
