Councilman Marks announces funding to advance 22-acre park in Perry Hall

PERRY HALL, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks on Monday announced that the FY 2025 budget proposal proposed by the Olszewski administration includes funding to advance the 22-acre park on Gerst Road in Perry Hall.

The budget includes $400,000 for design and engineering of the park at the former Bierman Farm. Two community meetings have already been held to solicit input from residents and other stakeholders.

Most of the comments at the community meetings supported less intense uses at the park.

“This funding will hopefully advance the park toward construction in 2026 or 2027,” said Councilman Marks. “When that happens, Perry Hall will have is fifth new operational park since 2010, and an additional 22 acres will be preserved from development.”

The White Marsh Recreation Council was actively involved with the purchase of the park.

“We are happy this new park is advancing in one of the densest parts of Perry Hall and White Marsh,” said Salim Barrouk, president of the White Marsh Recreation Council.

“This park will be a terrific addition to our community,” said Pat Keller, president of the Perry Hall Improvement Association.
