MDTA to host virtual forum on Francis Scott Key Bridge reconstruction

BALTIMORE, MD—The Maryland Transportation Authority will be hosting a virtual forum on May 7 to discuss the reconstruction of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.

The virtual forum will inform the public about the anticipated Progressive Design-Build (PDB) Process for the bridge reconstruction project. The PDB process involves the design, construction, and operation of a new bridge, and is expected to be completed in 2027.

This forum will help to ensure that industry professionals have the opportunity to share their skills and expertise with the project coordinators, and will also provide information about how to become Maryland Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certified.

The information presented on the forum will be used to help the MDTA finalize the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the reconstruction project, which is expected to be released by the end of May. The RFP is an industry standard that is used to identify eligible contractors for a project.

The MDTA seeks to hear feedback from industry professionals at the virtual forum, and questions can also be submitted in advance online. All forum materials, including questions and answers, will be posted to the website following the virtual event.

Registration is now open at https://www.KeyBridgeRebuild.com for industry professionals interested in attending the Virtual Industry Forum.
