White Marsh Precinct police officer named Rookie of the Year by Baltimore County Police Foundation [VIDEO]

WHITE MARSH, MD—A police officer stationed in White Marsh has been named Rookie of the Year.

The Baltimore County Police Foundation has named OFC Antoine M. Ferrell as its 2024 Rookie of the Year.

The Baltimore County Police Foundation Awards Program was established in 1980 to recognize members of the Baltimore County Police Department for outstanding performance and to strengthen the relationship between the department and the business community.

All members of the Department, sworn as well as professional staff, are eligible for nomination. Awards are given for community service, crime prevention, distinguished contribution to the profession, exceptional performance, valor, and the “Michael P. Caruthers” Rookie Of The Year Award.

Nominations are made by a department member, screened by the nominee’s supervisor, and then considered by the Foundation’s Awards Committee. Each award recipient is honored with a Foundation plaque, a specially designed ribbon bar, and a check for $1,000 for individual awards, and $3,000 to be shared equally for three or more nominees in a particular category.
