Maryland Lottery celebrates local winners with $100,000 and $50,000 Powerball prizes

BALTIMORE, MD—The Maryland Lottery is showing some love for local winners after two $100,000-winning Powerball tickets were sold in Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village and a $50,000-winning ticket were sold in Baltimore.

The Powerball jackpot was hit in Oregon last Saturday, but the lottery is still sending home big winners in Maryland. The two $100,000-winning tickets were sold at the Giant located at 20044 Goshen Road in Gaithersburg and Goshen Plaza Beer & Wine located at 9140 Rothbury Drive in Montgomery Village. The $50,000-winning ticket was sold by the Royal Farms located at 4820 O’Donnell Street in Baltimore.

The lucky numbers that matched the Powerball were 6, 7, 12, 24, and 36. The Powerball was 15. The Power Play multiplier was x2, which is how the third-tier winners got their tickets doubled to $100,000.

The lottery is encouraging winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. The Maryland Lottery’s Claims Center in Baltimore is open by appointment only.

There is also still a chance to win a free Mega Millions ticket if you buy a Powerball ticket in Maryland through April 21. The free ticket will be printed immediately after you get the Powerball ticket.
