Spring Fling Mega Pet Adopt-a-Thon to be held in Baltimore this month

BALTIMORE, MD—Baltimore-area residents looking to add a new furry friend to their families may want to head to Pimlico later this month.

On Saturday, April 20, Baltimore County Animal Services will join BARCS, the Maryland SPCA, and the Baltimore Humane Society for an extra special “mega” adoption event at Pimlico Race Course.

The Spring Fling Mega Adopt-a-Thon will be held at Pimlico (5201 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215) in the Grandstand 2nd Floor and Triple Crown Room from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adoption fees will be waived for all animals at the event. Dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, and small companion animals will all be available for adoption.

Families will be able to bring home their new furry friends the day of the event if the animal is already altered. All adoptions are first come, first served and adoption fees have been waived for all pets at the event.

Prospective adopters will need to bring a valid photo ID and proof of current address. Adopters must be at least 18 years of age.  Adopters may not bring their current pets to the event. Adoption counselors from each shelter will be giving all adopters very thorough instructions about acclimating new pets to homes with existing pets.

Cat carriers, leashes, and collars will be available for additional purchase at the event.
