PERRY HALL, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks on Wednesday announced that improvements will be made in early May to improve pedestrian access at Gunpowder Elementary School.
The project involves improvements to pathways that connect Gunpowder Elementary School, including repairs to the existing sidewalk at Lovelock Court.
“I would like to thank County Executive’s staff and the Office of Property Management for all their support improving these connections to Gunpowder Elementary School,” said Councilman Marks. “It will help improve access by walkers—not just schoolchildren, but parents pushing strollers and all individuals with disabilities.”
“Walking to and from school is not only a healthy choice; it’s an opportunity for our youngest students to spend quality time with family. This engagement is key for academic success,” added School Board member Julie Henn. “I appreciate our partnership with Baltimore County Government, and especially, the efforts of Councilman Marks to expand safe, walkable access to Gunpowder Elementary.”
The project is expected to begin around May 6, weather permitting.
