BALTIMORE, MD—Maryland State Highway Administration crews will perform a concrete pavement repair project on MD 542 (Loch Raven Boulevard) between Cromwell Bridge Road and Joppa Road east of Towson over the next two weekends.
Officials say the repair project should be complete by 5 a.m. on April 22, weather permitting.
During the weekend work, there will be a continuous single-lane closure on northbound and southbound MD 542 between Cromwell Bridge Road and Joppa Road at the following dates and times:
- 9 p.m. Friday, April 12 through 5 a.m. Monday, April 14
- 9 p.m. Friday, April 19 through 5 a.m. Monday, April 22
Concrete requires time to dry to come to strength to support vehicle weights. In case of inclement weather, the concrete pavement repair work will be performed on the next possible weekend.
The project is part of a $10.5 million project to improve safety and ride quality of pavements on primary state highways within Baltimore County and Harford County. Learn more about this project here.
Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium and the subcontractor, Priority Construction of Baltimore, will use temporary traffic signs to guide drivers safely through the work zone on MD 542. Business entrances on this section of MD 542 will remain open during the work. Motorists are urged to plan ahead for extra travel time and look ahead for contractor crews, construction equipment, and vehicles turning in and out of driveways.
Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus riders on the Local Bus Route 53 stops #422 (southbound) and #8701 (northbound) will be directed to use other stops on MD 542 during the weekend work.
