Mid-Atlantic earthquake rattles Maryland

BALTIMORE, MD—A moderate Mid-Atlantic earthquake rattled parts of Maryland on Friday morning.

The United States Geological Survey reports that a 4.8-magnitude earthquake hit Whitehouse Station, New Jersey at 10:23 a.m. on April 5, 2024.

The temblor occurred at a depth of 4.7 km.



The Maryland Department of Emergency Management has heard reports that local residents have experienced shaking. Officials are in contact with local jurisdictions.
