BALTIMORE, MD—There were some big lottery winners in the Baltimore area this past week as the Powerball jackpot continues to soar.

Maryland Lottery officials say a winning $25,000 Pick 5 ticket was sold on March 18 at Quick Stop Food Mart, located at 3301 E. Joppa Road in Carney (21234).

Also, the winning $1 million Powerball ticket that was sold on March 18 at the Royal Farms store located at 7204 York Road (21212) remains unclaimed as of March 25th.

Meanwhile, the jackpot prize for the March 25 Powerball drawing has an estimated annuity value of $800 million, with an estimated cash option of $384.8 million. The jackpot grows each time no one matches all the winning numbers, and there have been 35 drawings without a jackpot winner since Jan. 1 when a player in Michigan hit for $842.4 million.

The Mega Millions jackpot for the March 26 drawing stands at an estimated annuity value of $1.1 billion, with an estimated cash value of $525.8 million. There have been 30 drawings since Dec. 8, 2023 when two players in California split a jackpot of $394 million.

This is the first time the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots have simultaneously been at the $800 million level or higher since the games’ inceptions in 2002 and 1992, respectively.
