MDTA Police made 490 traffic stops, removed 14 impaired drivers over St. Patrick’s Day weekend

BALTIMORE, MD—Maryland Transportation Authority Police conducted high visibility traffic enforcement across the state during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Officers focused on the leading causes of crashes including impaired and aggressive driving. MDTA Police Officers conducted more than 490 traffic stops and removed 14 impaired drivers from Maryland roadways.



In addition to high visibility enforcement, MDTA Police investigators led a warrant initiative focused on locating and arresting fugitives with DUI-related warrants. Officers made 16 arrests and cleared 20 open warrants.
