NOTTINGHAM, MD—Maryland Lottery officials say a Joppa woman has won $50,000 after she purchased a Pick 5 ticket in Nottingham.
The woman, who is a retired banker, purchased a $5 ticket at the Nottingham Walmart for the February 9 drawing and then forgot about the $1 quick-pick ticket.
“I didn’t check it until Monday. When I saw that I had won, I said, ‘No way,’” the retired banker noted.
The woman is no stranger to winning money, having already won $5,000 on a scratch-off last year. She is planning on using the money for home renovations.
The winning Pick 5 ticket was sold at the Walmart located at 8118 Perry Hills Road (21236).
