JMVFC, Red Cross to install smoke detectors in Edgewood area on Saturday

EDGEWOOD, MD—On Saturday, the American Red Cross of Central Maryland, along with volunteers from Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, will be going door-to-door in Edgewood, distributing and installing smoke detectors to those in need.



Areas targeted will include Brookside Drive, Judy Way, Eloise Lane, Smallcrest Drive, Grempler Way, and Waterside Court.

Volunteers will be offering free smoke alarm installations and fire safety education. In the U.S.,
there are over 900 house fires every day. The Red Cross’ goal is to help prevent these devastating incidents by equipping communities with their first line of defense: working smoke alarms.
