70-year-old pedestrian killed after being hit by truck in Baltimore County crash

RANDALLSTOWN, MD—Police are investigating after a 70-year-old man was struck and killed in Baltimore County earlier this week.

At around 5 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024, officers responded to Liberty Road near Brenbrook Drive in Randallstown for a pedestrian crash involving a 2010 Mack 600 truck.



Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department have determined that this incident occurred as the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Liberty Road and Burlon Austin Jr., 70, was attempting to cross in a southbound direction.

Following the crash, medics transported Austin to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this crash.
