ABERDEEN, MD—Loud noise alert!
Aberdeen Proving Ground officials say the base has firing operations scheduled for the week of January 29, 2024.
APG has firing operations scheduled this week from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Noise may be heard in some areas off the installation.
On Monday, January 29, there will be several large caliber firing programs that will be heard off post.
Military weapons, watercraft and/or aircraft will be visible during daytime and nighttime hours. Residents may hear weapons firing and see flashes or light visible off post from illumination devices.
Officials say these operations are not hazardous to residents in surrounding communities and are integral to ensuring continued readiness of service members.
Organizations on APG take every measure to mitigate instances when training or testing becomes problematic to residents off the installation. APG officials monitor the weather and the noise readings continuously throughout each day.
If, at any time, anyone in the surrounding communities is concerned about testing at Aberdeen Proving Ground, they are encouraged to contact the installation at 410-278-4091.
