Police seeking tips after 33-year-old killed in Hillendale hit-and-run

HILLENDALE, MD—Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in the Hillendale area this week.

At just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, officers with the Baltimore County Police Department responded to the area of Loch Raven Boulevard and Sayward Avenue (21234) for a reported motor vehicle collision that involved a pedestrian.



When authorities arrived, they discovered that 33-year-old James McCoy had been struck by a Jeep Liberty traveling northbound on Loch Raven Boulevard. McCoy, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the Jeep Liberty did not remain at the scene of the crash.
