Police arrest man at BWI wanted for Baltimore County rape, assault

BALTIMORE, MD—Maryland Transportation Authority Police arrested a Montgomery County man earlier this month during a traffic stop at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

At around 2 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, an MDTA Police Officer assigned to BWI Airport stopped a silver Dodge Ram on the inner roadway of the airport’s upper level. The inner roadway is a high pedestrian area, and traffic is limited to authorized vehicles only.

During the stop, officers identified the driver as 27-year-old Wilfredo Pineda of Silver Spring.  Officers learned that Pineda was wanted on an open warrant through the Baltimore County Police Department for charges including second-degree rape and assault.

Officers took Pineda into custody and transported him to the Jennifer Road Detention Center without incident.
