EDGEWOOD, MD—One man was burned and a firefighter fell through the floor in a Harford County house trailer fire on Thursday evening.
At just before 7 p.m. on January 18, crews responded to the 1900-block of Michael Drive in Edgewood for a report of a house on fire.
Units from Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company and surrounding fire departments arrived to find smoke coming from a mobile home. Units worked to quickly contain and extinguish the fire.
One occupant, an 82-year-old man, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in stable condition for burns on his legs and face and for smoke inhalation.
A firefighter fell through the floor but was uninjured. Crews were impeded by reported hoarding conditions found inside the home.
The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal says the fire was caused by a space heater that ignited nearby combustibles.
