BALTIMORE, MD—The bulk of the wintry weather has ended in and around the Baltimore area, however the National Weather Service says freezing drizzle and sleet will continue through midday. The precipitation may end with another period of light snow.
From 2 p.m. on Monday to 5 a.m. on Tuesday morning, Maryland State Police responded to 186 crashes and 117 disabled vehicles, and also answered 650 calls for service.
Roads will turn icy this evening as dangerously cold temperatures make their way into the region.
Officials say motorists who need to be on the road should allow for extra time – and stay home if possible.
Forecasters are watching another chance for wintry precipitation on Friday.
