Baltimore area may see first accumulating snowfall in two years this weekend

BALTIMORE, MD—The forecast is becoming a bit more clear with regard to this weekend’s winter storm that is expected to impact the Baltimore area.

The National Weather Service says that wintry weather is expected across much of the region on Saturday afternoon and into the overnight hours.

The greatest impacts from snow and ice will likely be felt in western Maryland with moderate to heavy rain mixing in and reducing totals further east.

Forecasters say the Baltimore area will likely see around an inch of snow although parts of northern Baltimore County could see higher amounts.  Should the low pressure system track further south, higher totals are possible.

The Baltimore area hasn’t seen an inch or more of snowfall since January 28, 2022.
