Central Area Elementary School Capacity Relief Boundary Study group to hold fourth meeting on Thursday

TOWSON, MD—The committee charged with examining central area elementary school attendance areas convenes for its next meeting this week. The meeting is the fourth of five scheduled committee sessions held since last fall. Two public information meetings also took place in November 2023.

The meeting will be held 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology cafeteria.  The snow date will be Friday, January 5th.



The study seeks to evaluate boundary options and relieve schools projected to be overcrowded, as well as to maximize the use of available space at elementary schools in the region. The study’s scope includes 19 central-area elementary schools.

Schools participating in the study are Carroll Manor, Cromwell Valley Regional Magnet, Halstead Academy, Hampton, Jacksonville, Lutherville Laboratory, Mays Chapel, Oakleigh, Padonia International, Pine Grove, Pinewood, Pleasant Plains, Pot Spring, Rodgers Forge, Riderwood, Stoneleigh, Timonium, Warren, and West Towson elementary schools.

The committee welcomes the public to attend its committee meetings or to view the meetings online. Thursday’s meeting will be livestreamed as well.
