Flood Watch issued for Baltimore area as soaking rain expected

BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Baltimore area.

The watch will be in effect from 6:00 p.m. on Sunday through 6:00 a.m. on Monday.

Forecasters say a strong low will bring heavy rain and gusty winds to the area.

A total of 2-3″ of rain is expected with a few instances of flooding possible. Localized amounts of up to 4 inches are possible along and east of I-95.

Easterly winds will increase on Sunday before switching to the northwest on Monday with gusts of 35-45 mph.



Residents should stay tuned to local forecasts in case Flood Warnings are issued.
