PERRY HALL, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks on Monday announced that the interim changes proposed as part of the Honeygo Boulevard/Cross Road traffic circle project are on hold, and that the next milestone will be activities related to the actual construction of the traffic circle.
The Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation had initially proposed an interim solution that included restricting through-movement and left turn access on Honeygo Boulevard.
“I believe the interim solution would have been extremely disruptive and would have sharply increased detours onto all other nearby routes, including Chapel and Forge Roads,” said Councilman Marks. “I am pleased that proposal is on hold and we will focus on the construction of the circle in the spring of 2025.”
Councilman Marks worked with County Executive Olszewski to secure at least $2 million in the budget for the project, which is needed to improve safety at a dangerous intersection. Marks will work to increase speed enforcement over the next year, as the county completes design activities, right-of-way acquisition, and utility adjustments.
